About The Position

The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic testing and assists with interventional procedures, according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. Diagnostic testing includes X-ray, and interventional procedures. This position supports diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. This position may support coronary and peripheral interventions, closure device implants, electrophysiology studies, ablations and device implants. The Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position supports the Interventionalist by scrubbing in during the procedure, as well as computerized documentation of the events of the procedure. On Call is a requirement of this position.  This position actively participates in and supports preceptoring of new employees or clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school required
  • Licensed by the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) required
  • Registered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Radiography (ARRT)(R) required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • ACLS is required within 12 months from date of hire or transfer
  • Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire
  • NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially to work
  • ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed annually to work
  • On Call is a requirement of this position

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years interventional cardiology experience preferred.
  • Peripheral experience preferred.
