About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled CVICU RN to join a cardiovascular intensive care unit in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This 8-bed, high-acuity unit provides care to critically ill cardiac and post-operative cardiovascular patients, including open-heart surgery cases. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical care assessment skills, comfort managing complex cardiac conditions, and the ability to function effectively in a collaborative ICU environment.

Requirements

Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ER, ICU, or CVICU experience (within last 3 years).
PCU/IMCU experience considered with 2+ years total experience.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS certification (Within 6 Months)
NIHSS Stroke Certification (Within 30 Days)

Nice To Haves

BSN degree.
CCRN certification (must obtain within 2 years if not currently certified).
Cardiovascular ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessments.
Administer vasoactive drips and advanced cardiac therapies as ordered.
Conduct frequent reassessments and respond rapidly to clinical changes.
Serve as patient and family advocate.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams.
