About The Position

CVICU RN's provide highly specialized care to patients who suffer from a serious injury or illness. CVICU RN's need to keep watch over people whose condition may undergo rapid changes as well as care for those who are often too ill to care for themselves in even the most basic capacity. CVICU specializes in Cardiac. Typically, these units get open hearts that have swans in place. CVCU RN's work in the ICU unit of a hospital, sometimes called Critical Care. CVICU RN's may be asked to float to PCU or Tele.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Must pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
  • Active state RN license.
  • ACLS and CRRT certifications are often required.
  • Recent experience and flexible schedule required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
  • Monitor patients for rapid changes in condition.
  • Assist patients who are unable to care for themselves.
  • Float to PCU or Tele as needed.
