About The Position

The Cardiovascular Educator provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leaders and researcher. Educator supports the development of the bedside echo technologist, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. 25 % Provide clinical education and hands-on training to cardiac sonographers, students, and new hires 25% Oversee competency assessments, skills development, and continuing education for the Outpatient CV Imaging departments 10% Collaborate with department leaders to ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, and staff preparedness 25% Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for new technologies, protocols, and procedures 5% Assist with program development and partnerships with schools, externships, and outreach efforts 1 0% Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies as needed to support team operations

Requirements

  • ACLS and BLS
  • Must be ARDMS RDCS with Adult Echocardiography (AE) OR CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • 5+ years of prior experience
  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
  • Top expert and functional mentor; possesses the most advanced knowledge.
  • Makes decisions regarding personal daily priorities.
  • Provides guidance to and/or assists staff on non-routine or escalated issues.
  • Works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgement requiring analysis of variable factors.
  • Serves as a technical leader on daily tasks and cases.
  • May recommend/coordinate scheduling of work assignments, daily priorities and directing the work of staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Sonographer certification preferred
