This is a remote/hybrid opportunity but candidate will need to attend certain on-site meetings. Remote work option is available with this opportunity for candidates residing in the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia. Day shift, Weekend hours may be needed for special projects. Under the direction of the Director of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Services, the Cardiovascular Database Coordinator is responsible for the accurate entry of Cardiothoracic & Vascular data to the appropriate database programs. The Cardiovascular Database Coordinator collaborates with the Application Analyst III to assure accurate data collection, effective communication with national registries, and accurate reporting. Cardiac experience preferred but not required. Under the direction of the Director of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Services, the Cardiovascular Database Coordinator is responsible for the accurate entry of Cardiothoracic & Vascular data to the appropriate database programs. The Cardiovascular Database Coordinator collaborates with the Application Analyst III to assure accurate data collection, effective communication with national registries, and accurate reporting. Responsible for data collection and data entry for database programs associated with Cardiothoracic & Vascular Services. The Cardiac Cath Lab (ACC), Cardiac Operating Rooms (STS), Vascular Operating Rooms (SVS) and other database programs used for data collection for cardiothoracic and vascular patients. Evaluates discrepancies, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in data and appropriately edits, revises, and/or clarifies data which is unclear or incomplete, seeking assistance as needed from the assigned Application Analyst III. Coordinates the process used to collect appropriate data elements throughout the episode of care including demographic data, clinical data, outcome data and operational/cost data located in the electronic medical record. Participates in the preparation and submission of data to national registries for benchmarking. Assists the Application Analyst III in the training of users and troubleshooting problems associated with data collection. Participates in the presentation of reports to Cardiologists, Cardiovascular Surgeons, Quality Management and Administration. Job Scope: Communication to physicians and other employees must promote a positive image. Interacts with unit staff, physicians, management, and ancillary departments. Maintains patient and staff confidentiality. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment and to perform duties and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Must be able to complete assignments independently and work as part of a team. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate data collection. This position may include flexing of work schedule to meet departmental needs.
