About The Position

This position involves assisting the surgical team during procedures, maintaining sterile fields, preparing instruments, and ensuring quality patient care during operative procedures.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (NCCT or NBSTSA) or RN License preferred.
• At least 1 year experience in a general OR environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Transports instruments to the decontamination room after procedures.
• Maintains instruments in good working order and ensures availability for surgical cases.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Participates in testing and recording biotesting for sterilizers and autoclaves.
• Prepares patient skin for surgery and assists the team during procedures.
• Prepares Cath Lab with necessary supplies and ensures equipment is in working order.
• Receives and processes specimens for laboratory delivery.
• Plans and collaborates with other departments for patient care continuity.
• Documents patient assessments and care activities with RN oversight.
• Assists patients with daily living activities.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation exercise equipment.
• Communicates changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and intervenes appropriately.
