Job Summary : A Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation RN II helps patients recover from heart and lung conditions by providing clinical care, education, and lifestyle support.
Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients’ physical and emotional status, medical history, and rehabilitation needs.
Care Planning: Develop individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with physicians, exercise physiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitoring and Treatment: Supervise exercise sessions and monitor vital signs (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation). Administer medications and oxygen therapy as needed. Respond to cardiac or pulmonary emergencies during rehab sessions.
Education and Counseling: Teach patients about heart-healthy and lung-friendly lifestyles, including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and stress management. Provide psychosocial support to help patients cope with chronic illness or recovery.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, interventions, and outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Background in cardiac, pulmonary, critical care, or emergency nursing is preferred.
BLS required.
ACLS required.
UM-BWMC arrhythmias course (or its equivalent) completion required.
