  • Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' physical and emotional status, medical history, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Care Planning: Develop individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with physicians, exercise physiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitoring and Treatment: Supervise exercise sessions and monitor vital signs (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation).
  • Administer medications and oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Respond to cardiac or pulmonary emergencies during rehab sessions.
  • Education and Counseling: Teach patients about heart-healthy and lung-friendly lifestyles, including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and stress management.
  • Provide psychosocial support to help patients cope with chronic illness or recovery.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Background in cardiac, pulmonary, critical care, or emergency nursing is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
  • BLS required. ACLS required.
  • UM-BWMC arrhythmias course (or its equivalent) completion required.
  • If RN, current Maryland License required.
  • Cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology.
  • ECG interpretation.
  • Exercise physiology.
  • Patient education techniques.
