About The Position

RiverView Health is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator to lead and support our Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs and Stress Lab. This role is ideal for a clinically skilled, patient-centered professional who is passionate about chronic disease management, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Coordinator provides comprehensive, coordinated care to patients recovering from or managing cardiac and pulmonary conditions. This position combines clinical expertise, program coordination, patient education, and quality-focused practice to promote optimal patient outcomes and program excellence.

Requirements

  • Current State of Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited program
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and/or cardiac stress testing environment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
  • Demonstrated competency in peripheral IV insertion
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications in: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Candidates not currently certified may be eligible for employer-sponsored training and must obtain required certifications within three (3) months of hire
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular care team

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) or more years of overall healthcare experience
  • Prior experience in cardiac rehabilitation, stress testing, cardiology, or cardiovascular services
  • Experience coordinating or leading clinical workflows, programs, or staff
  • Knowledge of exercise physiology and patient education related to cardiac rehabilitation
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Demonstrated ability to educate and motivate patients with chronic cardiac conditions
  • Previous experience in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, or accreditation standards related to cardiovascular care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and ongoing assessments for Phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs
  • Interpret clinical data, including cardiac rhythms, exercise responses, and functional capacity measures
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans focused on safe, functional, and measurable outcomes
  • Deliver patient- and family-centered education related to disease management, lifestyle modification, exercise, and risk-factor reduction
  • Maintain cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programming in compliance with American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) standards and certification requirements
  • Perform and assist with cardiac stress testing, including exercise (treadmill) and pharmacologic stress tests in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Prepare patients for stress testing by reviewing medical history, medications, allergies, and contraindications; provide clear patient education and obtain informed consent as appropriate
  • Recognize and respond promptly to abnormal findings, adverse reactions, and emergency situations; initiate appropriate interventions and follow ACLS protocols
  • Administer medications and IV contrast agents as ordered, including starting and maintaining peripheral IV access
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
  • Accurately document clinical care, outcomes, and patient response in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
  • Complete required data collection, reporting, and billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Identify and address patients’ physical, emotional, cultural, and psychosocial needs with compassion and professionalism
  • Assist with the maintenance, calibration, and inventory of requipment and supplies
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional practice standards
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to ensure ongoing clinical competence and current field knowledge
