About The Position

The Cardiology Technician is responsible for the independent performance of electrocardiograms, holter monitor hook-up, signal average electrocardiograms, and patient monitoring on all patient populations. They are responsible for management of the ECG system and distribution of all interpreted ECGs. The Cardiology Technician must understand and abide all regulatory rules and apply them as appropriate. They assist with the performance of stress tests working with either the Cardiac Stress RNs or physicians during normal working hours or during on call assignments. They assist with research, training of professionals and paraprofessionals, information management and equipment maintenance. They assist with the daily activities of the cardiology department facilitating the flow of patients by providing clinical and clerical support to staff, patients and families.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of prior patient care experience required.
  • Prior use of computer database systems.

Nice To Haves

  • EMT, or CCI (Cardiovascular Certification Institute) certification preferred.
