About The Position

The Cardiology Technician at WMC Advanced Physician Services PC is responsible for performing diagnostic testing and assisting in various procedures within the cardiology department. This role involves conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs), holter monitoring, stress testing, and supporting vein closure procedures. The technician will also be involved in training new technicians and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols in a hospital setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years of previous experience in a clinical setting.
• EKG Certification preferred.
• IV Certification preferred.
• Strong analysis skills.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform Electrocardiograms (EKG) for both adult and pediatric populations.
• Conduct Holter monitoring and support in tilt table testing.
• Assist in all areas of stress testing including exercise treadmill testing (ETT), stress echo, and nuclear stress testing.
• Train entry-level technicians in procedures related to EKGs, Holter monitoring, tilt table testing, stress tests, and vein closure procedures.
• Adhere to infection control and radiation safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality by replenishing supplies and reporting malfunctions.
• Structure reports in the digital imaging PACS system and reconcile orders in PACS and EMR systems.
• Perform chart readiness and confirmation calls to provide instructions to patients.
• Prepare procedure rooms for vein closure cases and manage vein closure inventory.
• Coordinate terminal cleanings between cases with housekeeping.
• Insert IVs as needed, with training provided.
• Perform miscellaneous laboratory duties as required.
