About The Position

Overview Conducts stress tests, monitors and responds to the patient's condition during the test and summarizes exercise tracings. Ensures proper maintenance of supplies and equipment. Responsibilities Conducts stress tests using the treadmill/bicycle, including pre-test evaluation. Performs Thallium exercise tests to include Persantine tests with a physician. Records data from tests. Monitors the patient's response to exercise, makes physiologic observations and terminates the procedure when ECG or patient endpoint is achieved. Summarizes findings from the exercise tracings, fills in data sheet, and notes the performance of the test in the medical record. Ensures that supplies are available, maintains records, and conducts checks of resuscitation materials. Instructs patients about the stress test prior to test administration. Attends and participates in medical rounds pertaining to stress-related patients. Maintains emergency equipment including drugs and defibrillator. Participates in the training of Fellows and other physicians in stress testing. Contacts referring physicians regarding stress test results and potential intervention strategies. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Associates Degree with 2 years of related experience or the equivalent in education and experience required. Current knowledge of the impact of exercise on stress testing. Required Licensure/Certifications Current BLS required
