Job Overview - ECG Tech- Per Diem Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, this position performs and assists in noninvasive cardiac procedures. As a member of the Patient Care Team, you will ensure that the patient and family members are attended to in a caring and attentive manner, responding to the needs of patients/family members in a timely manner and maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times. Hours: Per Diem / Variable hours within department operations (7 AM – 5 PM) Includes one weekend per month (Saturday & Sunday) Locations: Lowell General Hospital Main & Saints Campus
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of EKG course and EKG certificate.
- Prior experience in a cardiology clinic.
Responsibilities
- Maintains current knowledge in the areas of performance of ECG, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor and exercise stress testing, as well as patient education.
- Demonstrates a proficiency in ECG, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor, and stress testing by applying proper lead placement techniques.
- Documents patient information and demographics.
- Prepares procedures for interpretation.
- Operates ECG management system in accordance with department policy and procedure.
- Responds to stat priorities and code events in a timely manner consistent with policy.
- Demonstrates use and understanding of safe and proper transport and patient assistance techniques.
- Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows infection control practice.
- Maintains and troubleshoots equipment including Stress and ECG Management systems.
- Provides peer support for staff including new hires in all work processes and equipment.
