About The Position

The position is for a cardiology pharmacist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, specifically supporting the expansion of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The pharmacist will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including patient care, medication management, and education, while also participating in research and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Requirements

• Pharmacist License in Tennessee.
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field (required).
• 1 year of relevant work experience (required).
• PGY2 in ICU or cardiology preferred, or PGY1 plus multiple years of experience in cardiology.

Nice To Haves

• 5 or more years of experience in cardiac ICU.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching pharmacy staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide full clinical pharmacy services for assigned patients in the CVICU.
• Round with assigned provider teams as needed and respond to codes.
• Complete pharmacy consults and support transitions of care.
• Educate patients on medication use and adherence.
• Engage in antimicrobial stewardship and monitor high-risk medication therapies.
• Support resident and student education.
• Lead process improvements and research projects to enhance medication use in cardiology.
