About The Position

As the Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for: Assist with all client communications, including scheduling, prescription refills, obtaining patient histories, and post-visit communication. Restrain patients for various procedures. Echocardiograms, ECG’s, blood pressures, and temporary pacemaker implantation. Draw blood samples, place IVCs, obtain blood pressures, take diagnostic-quality thoracic radiographs, obtain ECGs, set up the patient for continuous ECG monitoring, prepare the patient for at-home Holter monitoring, and set up Constant Rate of Infusions for emergency patients. Run anesthesia for various procedures. Be familiar with the setup, use, and maintenance of the ultrasound unit. Ensure prompt and complete referring veterinarian communications, including record requests, inpatient summaries, diagnostic results, and discharge letters. Create and present accurate financial estimates based on veterinarian’s recommendations. Audit invoices daily to ensure charges are accurate and update owners with current charges Facilitate client visits for patients in the ICU Ensure patients are ready for discharge, including discharge letters, medications (to go home/returned to stock), and belongings collected. Assist inpatient nurses with treatments, patient husbandry, and diagnostics. Assist the veterinarian with patient examinations and diagnostics. Set up for thoracocentesis or pericardiocentesis for the DVM to perform. Set up and perform procedures such as abdominocentesis. Monitor external laboratory samples from submission to completed results. Monitor worklist and diagnostic tab in EzyVet. Review and streamline inpatient treatment sheets as directed by the veterinarian.

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license, or scheduled VTNE test day, required
  • New graduates or current CVT students are welcome to apply
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical experience
  • Ability to stand continuously up to 10 hours a day
  • Ability to lift and restrain patients up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Consistently demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Demonstrates time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work
