About The Position

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (Cardiology). The ARNP may diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Depending on the practice, ARNP may be required to take practice call.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience as a APRN in the Cardiovascular Services Required.
  • Active APRN license in the State of Florida.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS & ACLS certifications.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Advanced APRN Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services similar to those of a physician.
  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
  • Interpret, monitor and adjust anticoagulation therapy.
  • Supervision of nuclear stress tests and treadmill stress tests in the outpatient practice setting.
  • Diagnose and treat in collaboration with the supervising Cardiologist, adult cardiovascular patients in addition to a variety of chronic health conditions including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia etc.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations and identifying any medical conditions.
  • Obtain, update, and study medical histories of patients.
  • Determine abnormalities by administering and/or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies.
  • Interpret test results of patients.
  • Work weekdays and potentially take practice some evenings and weekends.
