About The Position

The Cardiologist - Non-Invasive position at South Shore Health involves providing comprehensive cardiology care at South Shore Hospital and South Shore Cardiology. The primary responsibility includes evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The cardiologist will join a team of interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and other non-invasive cardiologists, as well as advanced practice providers. The role requires participation in cardiology coverage at South Shore Hospital, where inpatient work is primarily in consultation. The hospital features a busy interventional and electrophysiology laboratory.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor Degree; completion of a residency program.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiology.
  • Meets requirements of South Shore Health medical staff bylaws.
  • Credentialed by SSH medical staff.
  • Licensed in Massachusetts as MD or DO.
  • Certified by the appropriate Board of their residency/fellowship training.
  • ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ambulatory cardiovascular care at South Shore Cardiology.
  • Participate in cardiology coverage at South Shore Hospital.
  • Perform, supervise, and analyze various cardiac testing including stress tests, EKG readings, transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and cardioversions.
  • Collaborate with Primary Care and other specialties to optimize cardiovascular care.
  • Supervise patients undergoing cardiac evaluation according to guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to credentialing and privileging policies.
  • Involve patients and their families in discussions about diagnoses and care plans.
  • Adhere to documentation standards and policies.
  • Monitor and improve the quality of medical care.
  • Participate in initiatives that promote best practices and collaborative improvements.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in cardiology through continuing medical education.
  • Provide input into patient care rendered by other disciplines.
