The Cardio-diagnostic Technologist performs a variety of noninvasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures including performing EKG's, event monitoring application, pacemaker interrogation and, under the direction of a physician, performs stress testing procedures. Their responsibilities include taking vital signs and monitoring patient responses throughout diagnostic testing, rooming patients for office visits, and reviewing their past medical history and allergies/medications. This position will require occasional duties such as, chart management, pre-procedure calls, triaging phone calls/EPIC messages and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the department. Performance of Cardio-diagnostic testing under the supervision of performing MD (and at times RN) including monitoring patients’ responses throughout testing. Recognizes normal v/s abnormal cardiac rhythms and performs all aspects of ambulatory arrhythmia monitoring. Tests include; Exercise Stress Testing, Echocardiogram Exercise Stress Testing, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram Testing, Vasodilator SPECT (Nuclear) Stress Testing, and Tilt Table Studies. Rooming Office visits, Follow Up’s, Consults’, obtaining vital signs, reviewing medication reconciliation list, allergies, obtaining patient height/weight, and performance of 12 lead EKG’s. Application of Holter and Event Monitoring systems per MD order. Follow up/triaging of urgent notifications obtained from third party Preventice company to appropriate parties (sending to RN vs/ MD). Chart review to prepare for Cardio-diagnostic testing and consult visits. Performance of pre-procedural calls, triaging patient phone calls/EPIC messages, and ancillary clerical duties including ordering medical supplies.
