Requirements

Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology.
2 years of Cardiac MRI experience required.
MR Certification required.
ARRT Certificate or ARMRIT
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewals

Nice To Haves

Previous pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs all job responsibilities of Level II Advanced MRI Technologist, including maintaining MR and patient safety, preparing and administration of contrast, completing procedures, and documenting patient information.
Demonstrates expert proficiency in cardiac and chest anatomy, both normal and abnormal (including complex congenital heart disease), and demonstrates understanding of common cardiac abnormalities.
Serves as a technical resource to Technologists, supporting continuing education needs and acting as a peer delegate.
Assists with accreditation responsibilities and ensures that all quality control tests, safety standards, equipment use, and procedures are conducted appropriately.
Responsible for tech quality assurance programs and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of, or in place of, the Lead MRI Tech.
Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment.
Creates and implements new training programs and assists with the startup of new offsite locations.
Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems, obtaining appropriate images, and effectively communicating with attending physicians, co-workers, and patients.
Leads training on new techniques, protocols, and software applications and collaborates with department physicians and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem-solving resolutions.
Attends advanced training sessions and seminars, and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.
Assists with research studies where applicable.
