Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs.

  • Prepares Cath Lab by checking all equipment
  • Set up Cath table with appropriate equipment and supplies (electrodes/suction/ restraints)
  • Pre-procedure patient assessments
  • Patient education
  • Assists with patient monitoring and induction of anesthesia
  • Flushes transducers, tubing, sheaths, dilators, and catheters
  • Assists cardiologist with procedures
  • 2 years' RN experience in cardiac Cath lab or critical care
  • Four-year bachelor's degree | BSN Required
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Req
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req
  • PALS/NRP/ACLS (Department specific requirements - see addendum) Req
  • Effective April 20, 2020, new employees must obtain PACES certification within 6 months of hire and existing employees must obtain PACES certification upon expiration of their PEARS certification (no later than April 20, 2022). (Department specific requirement - see addendum) Req
