Detects defects or irregularities using ultrasound equipment. Positions patients and explains procedures. Performs quality control functions. Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality. Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Provides orientation to new cardiac ultrasound technologists. Provides education and training to cardiac ultrasound technology students. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
