About Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Beaumont doctors on faculty. Scope to Work Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credential is required .

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program and/or significant clinical experiences as determined by the department.
  • RDCS or CCI (no exemption accepted, must pass both parts of exam) status is required by department.
  • BCLS
  • Analytical problem-solving is essential to optimize and enhance image acquisition for physician’s interpretation.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Professionalism and communication/interpersonal skills are critical .
  • Cooperative, team oriented, flexible, and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude are qualities essential to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years (full-time) experience in the performance of all cardiac ultrasound procedures for adults.
