About Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular and cancer care Scope to Work Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credential is required .

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program and/or significant clinical experiences as determined by the department.
  • RDCS or CCI (no exemption accepted, must pass both parts of exam) status is required by department.
  • BCLS
  • Analytical problem-solving is essential to optimize and enhance image acquisition for physician’s interpretation.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Professionalism and communication/interpersonal skills are critical .
  • Cooperative, team oriented, flexible, and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude are qualities essential to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years (full-time) experience in the performance of all cardiac ultrasound procedures for adults.
