Job Summary: Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic - Fremont Cardiology and Pulmonology Address: 2540 N Healthy Way - Fremont, NE Work Schedule: This is a casual/PRN position. Casual/PRN employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business.  Work days/hours will often vary from week to week Monday through Friday, hours between 8am - 5pm. Position is responsible for patient preparation and completion of Adult Echocardiography procedures and must be familiar with all Cardiac, Vascular and limited Neurological procedures of the CPS Department and complete studies as appropriate. Accurately prepare test reports for MD interpretation and procedural documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); May include specialized or vocational courses required.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Cardiac / Vascular Ultrasound program required.
  • New graduates to one year required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Echocardiography or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) in Vascular Sonography or Eligible required.
  • Follows pre-defined Policies, Procedures and Protocols for Respiratory Care procedures.
  • Responsible for the accurate assessment and diagnostic testing of Pulmonary patients, report preparation and documentation of testing done.
  • Maintains appropriate organizational competencies and educational requirements for maintenance of State Licensure and Registry by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Weight Demands Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Physical Activity Continuously stand/walk or lift/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20-50 lbs.). Periods of sitting at computer for testing and documentation.
  • OSHA Category 1: Tasks that may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
  • Located in an indoor testing environment with minimal physical discomforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Echocardiography and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) in Vascular Sonography or Eligible preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepares patient for and assists MD in completion of Echocardiography and Stress Echocardiography procedures according to department policy and procedure.
  • Accurately prepares patient for and assists MD in completion of medication induced Stress Testing to include Nuclear and Dobutamine tests according to department policy and procedure.
  • Proficiently performs EKG procedure to produce diagnostic quality tracings that are accepted by the Cardiologist for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Prepares patient for Holter Monitor set up and application. Downloads and prepares data for scanning per department policy and procedure.
  • Prepare patient for and proficiently perform Diagnostic Vascular procedures according to department policy and procedure.
  • Prepare patient for and proficiently perform limited Neurological procedures (EEG) according to department policy and procedure.
  • Completes order communication and test documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Utilizes Cerner scheduling and task management/completion as necessary.
  • Regularly attend and participate in department and hospital meetings and activities.
  • Age and physical limitations of patient considered during all procedures.
