About The Position

In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy, the Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. This role involves positioning and instructing the patient, operating ultrasound equipment, and determining the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. The technologist is responsible for ensuring correct marking/labeling of images and providing proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. The position requires technical proficiency in a variety of ultrasound procedures and the ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Ingenuity and initiative are essential for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.

Requirements

• Five (5) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an outpatient facility if not RDMS
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology
• Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures
• Must also know departmental protocols and procedures
• Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment
