About The Position

In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy, the Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images, provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an outpatient facility if not RDMS
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo (RDCSAE) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
  • Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
