About The Position

Full Time, Monday - Friday with varied shift times including: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 7:30am to 4:00pm, and 8:00am to 4:30pm Performs quality more complex exams and creates preliminary reports. Assists with interpreting imaging for each study. Required to work in the regional clinical setting, and the UAMS NICU (at AC only) on a rotational basis. This position also includes call.

Requirements

• Certificate from college program or technical school
• Related Field - 2 years of experience
• 1 of the following certifications is required - RDCS, FEc, PE, or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), RDCS (PE) – ARDMS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician order, and verifies patient/procedure and performs echocardiograms.
• Prepares and processes echo studies for interpretation.
• Assists in training of Cardiology Fellows performing Pediatric Echocardiography (AC only).
• Monitors equipment during procedures for equipment malfunctions and notifies of major malfunctions.
• Inventories supplies and submits list to proper personnel, to keep adequate supply stock for department.
• Is able to image congenital heart disease in a way that reflects understanding of the salient features and physiology of the diagnosis. Has an advanced understanding of the echocardiographic imaging approach to complex congenital heart disease.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
