Responsible for performing cardiovascular ultrasound procedures on patients ranging from neonatal to gerontologic. This position assists physicians by selecting practical applications and technical factors for procedures. This role carries out all applicable processes of the department and assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. In addition, this position teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Program
• 2 experience in adult echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.
• Pediatric proficiency within 1 year of hire
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR (CCI)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy.
• Adapts procedures to each patients medical situation, obtaining necessary information for proper interpretation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Calculates information accurately.
• Follows through with all details to ensure a smooth and timely flow of procedures.
