About The Position

The Cardiac Sonographer 3 is an advanced level position in the field of medical imaging responsible for performing echocardiograms and other cardiovascular diagnostic tests on patients. This role requires a high level of expertise in operating ultrasound equipment and analyzing images to assess the structure and function of the heart, ensuring quality control measures are followed, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Cardiac Sonographer 3 is a clinical resource for junior staff and/or students. On-call shifts may be required.

Requirements

• Technical Program Sonography Program Or
• Technical Program Cardiovascular Sonography Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross And
• ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS) Or
• CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
• Four (4) years progressive experience in cardiac sonography.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced cardiovascular imaging studies independently (i.e.: TTE, TEE, carotid, ABI, stress echocardiogram, duplex measurements, ect…)
• Analyze and evaluate imaging studies, providing preliminary findings to the supervising physician.
• Document all procedures accurately in the patients’ medical record, including patient history, imaging results, and any relevant observations.
• Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and safety while explaining the procedure to alleviate any concerns.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare team members to contribute to comprehensive patient care plans.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines, including infection control and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in cardiac imaging techniques and technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
