About The Position

This position serves as a registered cardiac sonographer in the echocardiography laboratory and at the cardiology satellite offices. The cardiac sonographer II is required to perform all aspects of an echocardiographic exam, have a strong knowledge of cardiac pathology/echo equipment and work with students/staff. The cardiac sonographer II also contributes skills to assist with an efficient operation of the department. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
• Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program (Required) or Graduate of an approved Sonography Program with cross-training in echocardiography (Required)
• 2+ years Experience in echo, preferably in a tertiary care setting (Required)
• Strong knowledge of cardiac pathology (Required proficiency)
• Demonstrated competence with all aspects of echo exams: transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, pharmacologic (Required proficiency)
• Ability to use all types of echo machines (Required proficiency)
• Basic computer skills (Required proficiency)
• Good communication skills (Required proficiency)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) (Required Upon Hire) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (Upon Hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
