About The Position

Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. Assists Nuclear Technologist and Cardiac Services Tech with patient flow. Does minor room clean ups pre & post testing. Sets up patient for stress test, attaching EKG leads and record blood pressure during the test. Performs blood pressures and oxygen saturations, observes patient's condition, observes monitors for indications of positive tests or other complications. Assists technologists transferring patients on and off exam tables and/or treadmills. Orders and stock supplies for the outpatient Cardiology Department. Prepares patients pre & post cardiology tests. Performs 12 lead EKG's. Inputs patient information into Muse when covering in the inpatient Cardiology area. Analyzes 24/48-hour Holter monitors/operates Holter monitor analysis system when covering in the inpatient Cardiology area. Responds to cardiac arrests and rapid responses, within the department, when covering in the inpatient cardiology area. Must wear personal dosimeter badge to monitor radiation exposure. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use and learn basic level computer systems and print reports.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • BLS required.
  • Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course within 6 months in position.
  • EKG course or certification required
