About The Position

A Registered Nurse (RN) in cardiac rehabilitation provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from or managing cardiovascular disease, focusing on improving heart health and reducing the risk of future problems. They guide patients on a path to heart-healthy lifestyles, monitoring their progress, and providing education and support.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Current Nevada RN license required
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• ACLS certificate required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cardiac nursing care required

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in cardiac rehab preferred

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Continuously assess patients' cardiac status, including vital signs, ECG, and other relevant parameters according to the patient treatment plan.
• Exercise and Activity Monitoring: Supervise and monitor patients during exercise programs, interpreting their responses and adjusting intensity as needed.
• Education and Counseling: Educate patients and families about cardiac health, disease management, lifestyle modifications, and the rehabilitation process.
• Procedure Assistance: Assist in diagnostic procedures like EKG and stress tests, and manage pacemakers or defibrillators as needed.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.
