About The Position

Participates in the delivery of general cardiopulmonary duties. Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order. Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients. Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress. Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required OR accredited school of respiratory and current RCP licensure.
  • Work requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms which is normally acquired after successful completion of HCH cardiac class.
  • Requires ACLS and BLS to be completed within twelve months of hire date
