About the position
The Cardiac Neuro Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 27-bed unit specializing in Med/Tele Neuro and Cardiac care. This role involves observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, as well as health teaching and counseling. The primary focus is on patient safety and satisfaction, administering medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Observe and assess patient conditions in the Cardiac Neuro unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct nursing diagnosis and develop care plans for patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and modify care plans as necessary.
- Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and their families.
- Promote wellness and prevent illness among patients.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
- 3+ years of recent RN acute care experience required.
- Telemetry and Cardiac experience required.
- Current Florida State Registered Nurse license; if compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification.
- NIHSS Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
