About The Position

Northeast Georgia Health System is rooted in a foundation of improving the health of our communities. About the Role: Job Summary The Monitor Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance and advanced ECG interpretation for critical care and telemetry patients. The Monitor Technician observes cardiac monitors, identifies, calculates, interprets, documents, and communicates information regarding cardiac rhythms to nursing staff and/or clinicians. Identifies, interprets, documents, and responds to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. Initiates emergency response by calling on an emergency phone line or initiates a code blue or rapid response if necessary per policy. This position provides cardiac and pulse oximetry surveillance via telemetry in all age ranges exclusive of neonates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform the basic skills and procedures designated for Monitor Techs
  • Adaptable in changing situations and work assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of EKG Technician course/certification.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience.
