About The Position

This is a .8 FTE position and will support the Heart Rhythm and Physiological Monitoring Laboratory. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters while at rest, and/or during exercise and/or in response to medication administration or other impacting procedure. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides direct patient care for a variety of patient populations. Responsibilities also include a working knowledge of various monitoring/testing devices and systems, equipment calibration, identifying and troubleshooting equipment failures, preparing patients/equipment for testing and/or monitoring, assessing for appropriate type of testing/monitoring, providing patient education on procedures, and accurately recording physiological data and preliminary interpretations in multiple reporting systems. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, communicating abnormal or critical physiological responses and activating medical emergencies response plans.
