About The Position

The Cardiac Invasive Lab Tech performs multiple roles within the cardiac laboratory, including assisting physician(s) with invasive cardiac laboratory procedures and conducting various cardiac tests to monitor patients’ heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment. Responsibilities may also include: preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining and recording patient information, assisting physicians in procedure by circulating and scrubbing procedures, X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency, acquire/measure/calculate hemodynamic date, performing blood work analysis, operate intracardiac ultrasound, clean procedure rooms, and preparing instruments for resterilization. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff and patients. Independently functions during diagnostic and interventions with minimal supervision. Maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab. Within the Cath Lab this may include structural procedurals and hemodynamics; within Heart Rhythm Services Lab, techs perform device and electrophysiology procedures (EP), and hybrid extractions. Will be required to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
