About The Position

The Cardio Electrophysiology Technician 3 (U) assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in an invasive procedure arena, specializing in the care of patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. This role involves performing basic diagnostic catheterization procedures on adult patients with known and suspected congenital and acquired cardiac and peripheral vascular disease, as well as basic interventional procedures such as PCTA, stent prep and placement, and IABP placement and operation. The technician also performs basic EP procedures including EP studies, implantation of pacemaker, ICD, BIV ICD, and ablations. Operating physiologic and radiographic equipment safely and efficiently is a key responsibility, along with maintaining established professional standards and observing all safety requirements to ensure high-quality patient care. The technician must maintain good communication with patients, continually evaluate their status during procedures, and provide age and gender-specific care. Responsibilities also include preparing and breaking down procedure rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and documenting patient data accurately.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • Must be RCES Certified.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Perform basic diagnostic catheterization procedures on adult patients.
  • Conduct basic interventional procedures including PCTA and stent placement.
  • Perform basic EP procedures such as EP studies and pacemaker implantation.
  • Operate physiologic and radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain professional standards and observe safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and evaluate their status during procedures.
  • Prepare and break down procedure rooms, including fluid preparation and stocking.
  • Document pertinent patient data accurately on encounter forms.
  • Assist with EP Diagnostic and Mapping systems.
