About The Position

The Cardiac Diagnostic Technician is responsible for providing basic and advanced electrophysiology services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Technician implements standard EKG services and special procedures to include; extended event monitoring, 24/48 hour Holter monitoring, Stress testing, Stress/Nuclear Medicine procedures and Stress/Echo testing. The position also requires extensive scanning, analysis and report generation for Holter monitors received from the CarolinaEast Heart Centers and CIM physician offices. The Technician is also responsible for the day-to-day performance of the departmental duties to include; computerized document and data management systems, and documentation for billing purposes. The individual is required to deliver services to patients in all areas of the hospital and those services are to be performed day/evening/nights and weekends as required to provide continuous, consistent diagnostic testing. On-Call responsibilities are an important part of job requirements. The Cardiac Diagnostic Technician is to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with minimal supervision and must be capable of making many independent decisions.

Requirements

  • High School graduate.
  • Typing skills (40+ WPM), grammar/spelling abilities, and medical terminology required.
  • Previous experience and/or formal Cardiac Diagnostic training required.
  • Cardiographic Technician certification preferred.
  • Candidates must obtain CCT credential within one year of employment.
  • BCLS required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret appropriate information.

Responsibilities
