About the position

The Cardiac Device Technician position involves working 4 x 10's from 7:00am to 5:30pm. This role requires in-depth knowledge of cardiac rhythm management, cardiac devices, and cardiovascular physiology. The technician will provide in-clinic testing and evaluation of data for cardiac patients with implantable devices, utilizing clinical and software application knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provides in-clinic testing and evaluation of data for cardiac patients with implantable devices.
  • Performs technical duties including pacemaker and cardiac defibrillator in-clinic testing for proper thresholds, sensing, and impedance.
  • Interprets data and ensures proper programming of devices.
  • Monitors alerts daily and provides ongoing monitoring and follow-up for patients.
  • Manages and analyzes data in the electronic database, maintaining data integrity.
  • Compiles patient history and prepares patients for procedures, providing patient education.
  • Oversees appropriate pacemaker/ICD patient follow-up based on established guidelines.
  • Collects diagnostic testing data and presents abnormal results to licensed providers.
  • Performs and is proficient in pacemaker/ICD intra-cardiac interpretation on various manufacturers’ equipment.
  • Evaluates pacemaker and defibrillator function through various testing methods.
  • Assists providers with implanting telemetry devices and prepares necessary equipment.
  • Manages multiple web-based patient care networks for daily analysis of scheduled and alert data.
  • Interacts with patients to educate them about their implantable home monitoring device.
  • Performs duties of Holter Analyst, CVT I, and CVT II as assigned.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Maintains basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Some cardiology experience is preferred.
  • Basic ECG interpretation and rhythm analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular medical terminology.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong computer skills.
