About The Position

Responsible for both direct and indirect care to patients with implantable cardiac devices—including pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators—while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. Performs and educates patients on EKGs, and manages the placement and monitoring of wearable cardiac devices like Holter and event monitors.

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position

Responsibilities

  • Manages comprehensive care for patients with cardiac implantable devices, applying specialized knowledge of electrophysiology and device function.
  • Interprets remote and in-office device data to identify arrhythmias, perform troubleshooting, and reprogram devices based on clinical protocols.
  • Coordinates patient appointments, recall follow-ups, and wearable cardiac monitor applications, ensuring individualized care and accurate documentation.
  • Assesses and prioritizes cardiac device data, integrating patient history and medications to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Accurately documents device checks and remote transmissions in EMRs and database systems.
  • Manages diagnostic tools by maintaining equipment, processing EKG results, and ensuring timely physician review.
  • Educates patients and families on cardiac devices and follow-up care in a clear, accessible way.
  • Engages patients to support treatment adherence and coordinates remote monitoring and follow-up scheduling.
  • Acts as a communication bridge between patients and healthcare teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery.
  • Accurately completes clinical documentation, billing, and administrative forms in line with organizational standards.
  • Promptly communicates patient concerns or abnormal findings to appropriate supervisory staff
  • Demonstrates adaptability and strong time-management skills by efficiently supporting daily operations and team needs.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains monitors, programmers, alarms, and other device-related technologies; orders and stocks necessary supplies.
  • Performs administrative duties including filing, data entry, and general clerical support as assigned.
