The Cardiac Device Technician will provide thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices <\/div> implanted in patients, including, but not limited to Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders, and Implantable Cardiac <\/div> Defibrillators. This will include checks done in office as well as remotely monitored patients. They will do initial <\/div> interrogations, report generation, and documentation in the EMR, as well as bring acute/urgent issues to the attention <\/div> of the physicians or APP’s. Also input charges into the billing software. Work with other Cardiac Device Technicians to <\/div> ensure alert thresholds and protocols remain current in the Device Clinic(s). <\/div> <\/div> Performs device interrogation, interpretation, and reprograms cardiac devices using established protocols set by <\/div> physicians, working independently. <\/div> ï· Performs device interrogation on critical devices and troubleshoots issues and immediately takes steps to <\/div> resolve problems, working with physician as needed. <\/div> ï· Documents device analysis using the EMR and works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare <\/div> providers to optimize the device for the patient’s condition. <\/div> ï· Notifies the physician or practice manager of the Cardiac Device Technicians of non -routine issues that need to <\/div> be addressed promptly. <\/div> ï· Educate patients and families on the device with regards to what to expect with a device, follow -up care, <\/div> monitoring, what to do in an emergency, and expectations of the Device Clinic. <\/div> ï· Communicate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, co -workers, and managers as <\/div> the condition of the patient changes or the device changes.
