Requirements

• A certificate of completion from an approved cardiac device technical school that provides a formal curriculum of education and training in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, cardiac resynchronization therapy and electrophysiology or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of cardiac pacing or electrophysiology may be substituted for the formal education training program
• Competent in rhythm interpretation
• International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) or Certified Clinical Device Specialist CCDS) through HRS, or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
• BLS
• ACLS

Responsibilities

• Provides technical, clinical and related services in the area of Electrophysiology and Cardiology relative to Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED's) in the ambulatory and inpatient setting.
• Setup, operate, and troubleshoot various CIED programmers and be proficient in deciphering complex Cardiac Device data elements.
• In collaboration with the Electrophysiology and Cardiology Team, this role serves to provide quality patient care for accurate CIED management, arrhythmia interpretation and device utilization for noninvasive arrhythmia termination protocols.
• Management and interpretation of CIED remote data and comprehensive knowledge of the necessary navigation of remote sites is required.
• Demonstrate global Cardiac Device knowledge to Physicians and have the capacity to communicate various Cardiac Device applications to patients in a concise manner.
• Functions in a highly specialized and unique area and requires a high level of clinical acumen and independence.
