The Cardiac CT Technologist is responsible for performing and processing advanced CT examinations with an emphasis on cardiac and coronary artery imaging. This role requires expertise in patient preparation, accurate ECG gating, and precise timing of intravenous contrast administration to optimize coronary and cardiac chamber opacification. The technologist independently selects and adjusts scanning protocols, monitors patients during procedures, and ensures image quality through post-processing techniques including multiplanar reconstructions, MIPs, and 3D volume rendering. The position involves collaborating with cardiologists and radiologists to provide diagnostic images that support evaluation of coronary artery disease, cardiac function, structural heart disease, and pre-procedural planning. The technologist is accountable for patient safety, radiation dose optimization, contrast reaction management, and adherence to established departmental and regulatory standards.This role involves close collaboration with cardiologists on complex cases, including those involving coronary arteries and the use of CT-FFR software. The incumbent also provides advanced support and training for other technologists and demonstrates competency for adult and geriatric patients.
