The position involves performing and assisting with direct patient care, including sheath removal and the recording and interpretation of hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings. The Technologist is responsible for monitoring and stocking inventory, as well as assisting with patient transfers. Additionally, the role requires the preparation, maintenance, and operation of sophisticated radiologic equipment such as cineangiographic, fluorographic, digital image recording, laser, and electrophysiology equipment in a safe and responsible manner. The Technologist also assists physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations and participates in the monitoring of the quality control program.
