About The Position

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technician (Cath Lab Tech) assists cardiologists and the clinical team during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role involves preparing the catheterization laboratory, monitoring hemodynamic data, operating specialized imaging and monitoring equipment, and assisting physicians during procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care. The technician plays a critical role in supporting interventional cardiology procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique and ensuring accurate monitoring of patient vital signs and cardiac function.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Appropriate education and clinical experience approved by the Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology
  • Strong knowledge of Interventional Cardiology procedures
  • Knowledge of Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology
  • Experience with Hemodynamic Monitoring systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac catheterization or related specialty preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience scrubbing in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures
  • Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory equipment and sterile field prior to procedures.
  • Perform scrub duties during cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Monitor and record hemodynamic data throughout procedures.
  • Operate specialized cardiac imaging and monitoring equipment
  • Prepare and manage catheters, guidewires, and other interventional devices used during procedures.
  • Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient data.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and radiation safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow in the catheterization laboratory.
