About The Position

Performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Customers served include UHSH employees, Medical Staff, patients and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. Complies with the Interventional Cardiology departmental on call policy. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Cardiac Catheterization Lab, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 Compensation Range: $37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience ----- Position Hours Weekday days (0700-1530, 0830-1700) On-call rotation of one 1700-0700 per week, and every fourth weekend (Fri-Sun)

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology
  • New York State license as Radiologic Technologist
  • Two (2) years of experience in full services hospital as a Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for all Cath Lab procedures to include: catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography and angioplasty, temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions.
  • Responsible for technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, of procedures including: catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography and angioplasty, temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions.
  • Operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and non-interventional patient procedures.
  • Ensures proper safety standards are met and radiation safety practices are adhered to.
  • Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all Cath Lab procedures.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of UHS information systems.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of coding procedures for accurate billing of all Cath Lab procedures
  • Learns new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings.
