About The Position

The Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology Technologist position at Janesville Hospital and Trauma Center involves working in a dynamic environment focused on patient care and safety. The role includes verifying the integrity and expiration dates of sterile supplies, preparing patients and equipment for procedures, and ensuring adherence to sterile techniques. Technologists will monitor and record procedural data, provide patient comfort, and advocate for radiation safety. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and safety during interventional procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program OR equivalent training/education program for required certification/licensure.
• Board certified ARRT OR eligible to take boards (must be board certified within six (6) months of hire).
• Graduate of a Cardiac Intervention Program AND registered or registry eligible (must be registered within six (6) months of hire).
• ACLS required within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify package integrity and expiration dates on all sterile supplies.
• Prepare patient and equipment for utilization of sterile technique.
• Monitor and record all procedural data and maintain procedural event logs.
• Provide patient comfort while familiarizing them with the equipment and supplies needed for the procedure.
• Apply necessary monitors and prepare access site(s) including the necessary sterile drapes.
• Use sterile and aseptic technique as required for infection prevention when scrubbing into a procedure.
• Advocate for radiation safety and protection for self and coworkers.
• Document fluoroscopy time and radiation doses and evaluate reports to determine if values are within established safety limits.
