About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II is responsible to assist in the performance of invasive testing and interventional procedures used in the detection and treatment of the heart and circulatory system within Cardiac Catheter, CTO and Structural Heart procedure rooms. They must also be proficient in the functions of Monitoring, Circulating and Scrubbing. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology, as well as ECG interpretation, cardiac medications, and hemodynamic principles. Performs all three essential functions within the Cath Lab — Monitoring, Circulating, and Scrubbing — for diagnostic and interventional cardiac, CTO, and Structural Heart procedures. Monitors and records hemodynamic data, ECG waveforms, and procedural events; alerts physicians to critical changes or abnormalities. Assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile technique, radiation safety, and infection control standards. Recognizes and responds appropriately to arrhythmias and emergent situations using ACLS standards. Prepares and maintains equipment, instruments, and procedural supplies required for safe and efficient case performance. Documents and enters procedure-related data into appropriate databases and systems in accordance with hospital policy. Participates in training and orientation of new staff and contributes to quality improvement and safety initiatives. Adheres to the principles of medical ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)
  • Valid BCLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI).
