We want your knowledge and expertise! The Cardiac Cath Lab RN Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact state required.
  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Prior Cardiac Cath Lab experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate department's services with the hospital's primary functions; coordinate and integrate the services within Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography with other departments.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
  • Recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care.
  • Determine the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners.
  • Continuously assess and improve assigned area's performance.
  • Maintain appropriate quality control programs.
  • Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the departments.
  • Function as the Chest Pain Center Coordinator.
  • Act as the cultural/educational PI processing champion for Chest Pain Accreditation.
  • Participate in the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Team.
  • Coordinate the process changes/improvements to meet current established standard guidelines for cardiac care.
  • Offer annual education to staff and assisting the Education Department in providing Chest Pain information to new hires.
  • Assist in CV risk screening to internal and external communities annually, including EMS providers for focused community outreach.
  • Participate in the budget process related to key elements of Chest Pain Accreditation.
  • Serve as the designated cardiac data administrator to provide oversight of CV data abstraction, to ensure data accuracy and utilizes this data and quality metrics for evaluation of facilities clinical processes for the cardiac patient population.
